Giving Back

Okay this is a sort of random thing, but all this last year my Young Women leader had been trying to take all the graduating girls out to lunch or dinner. We were always too busy, didn't want to go, etc etc. So when graduation came around, she gave each of us a card that had a gift card to Brick Oven in it, because that's where she had wanted to take us. When we got them we all felt really bad that we hadn't tried harder to give her a little of our time. So we decided this was important and we should give back to her for everything she had done for us. So all five of us worked our now very busy schedules out and took her to lunch. All of us went, no one was missing, and we could tell by her excitement when we called her that it really meant a lot to her. It really does make you feel good about yourself when you sacrifice for someone else!

Welcome to the Giving Smile Website!

Who am I and what is the giving smile? Well, these are good questions, so I hope that I can give you good answers. To begin, I must explain how the Giving Smile came about. A few years ago I received a knock at my door. To my surprise there stood two ladies holding balloons and a bag of candy. After a few minutes of confusion I came to find out that I had won free braces!! Apparently my dear friend and her mom had written a paper about why I was deserving (I would like to know what they put) and the orthodontist (Dr. Trapnell of Springville) picked me! So, that leads me to you.... Because I won free braces, the program encourages that I try to make the world a better place in "payment" for my treatment. The vision of the program is that through my smiles, I can help others smile. It therefore would be a domino effect and those who smile would want to make others smile. In turn, making the world a better and happier place. In conclusion, you have been directed here so you can share your stories about how you made someone's day, or someone made yours. Please share so we can make the world a better place!
